Is it inappropriate to bring a laptop to a restaurant for lunch if I'm dining by myself?

I plan on going out to lunch (alone) to a Chinese buffet style restaurant, during slow business hours, and would like to bring my laptop along to get some work done. I bring books to read when I'm dining by myself, but is a laptop pushing it?
