What was the name of a particular assassin?

So im trying to remember my history class. i learned about these assassins that filed their teeth to a point and they were one of the most brutal killers of their time. i think it was around the spartan time period but i cant remember their names. was it Hessian? pls someone help! this question has been bothering me for days! haha
