Why is cutting so bad?

I haven't cut in a couple of weeks, but I am definitely addicted to it, and I am having overwhelming urges to do it. The only reason I won't is because people are bound to notice (even on my hip), and they all yell at me and call me "emo" and "attention whore". I don't see why everyone says it's so bad. I get that it can lead to infection, but that won't happen to me, I'm careful. I won't end up cutting too deep. It doesn't hurt, per se. I am proud of each and every scar I have because they are part of me, and I'm proud of who I am. Can anyone give me a legitimate reason not to cut--for me? Please?

you can be mentally and physically addicted to soda. if you drink soda daily then your body will start craving the caffeine. try limiting how much sodas you drink a day or if you drink one every day limit how many you drink a week. you could try replacing soda with any other drinks you like that don't have caffeine in it. i used to be addicted to dr. pepper. i would HAVE to have at least one every day if not two. when i drink soda it calms me down also and when i don't have a soda i would feel irritable and i would get headaches. but i replaced dr. pepper with capri suns and flavored water and also tea (i know it has caffeine in it). the tea would still give me the little bit of caffeine i "needed" but, drinking that with juice, i soon was able to not have to drink tea every day either.

First, educate her on nutrition, it's benefits and how weight loss can actually reduce/eliminate some diseases like diabetes and hypertension. Then, start the exercise process slow. Use a site like mypyramid.gov to determine how many calories she eats/burns on a normal day. It can also aid her in how many cals she should eat to drop a safe amount of weight each week. Let her pick healthy foods she likes to plan her calorie intake, while starting exercise at something simple like chair dancing, and slowly increase exercise each week. Walking 2 blocks might be too much for her. Get her to walk to the mailbox once or twice a day at first and increase the walking as she feels better.

I've had trouble sticking to my diet for some reason lately. I used to stick to under 1200 calories of clean food with no trouble/cravings at all..I lost 30 lbs pretty quick. I have a question about the movie "Spartan"?

There are guys who've been Green Berets and left the Army to go to the Navy and be SEALs and vice versa so as long as you leave one service you can go to the next and be in another Spec Ops. And MSOT is the only segment of MARSOC which operates within SOCOM. Force Recon isn't apart of SOCOM though they do work for them occasionally. And Delta and DEVGRU are tier 1. SEALs, Rangers, SF, and CCT are tier 2. Some CCT are tier 2 but that's if they they are in the 24th Special Tactics Squadron of the Air Force. That's the kicker part about it also because Force Recon is also tier 2 but not in SOCOM. Alot of the units within SOCOM though do their own Recon.

I was playing Reach when all of a sudden the picture started going blurry. I have a Halo3 Spartan edition that i bought used so its pretty old. Obsessed. Usually this means that there is something missing in your life. I have that same problem but it's with the Final Fantasy series. Not a day goes by where I'm not thinking about it. What you need to do is to find something else to get into like another hobby or interest if you don't want to have this problem. I find this helps, but when I get out of it I always find focus drifting back to video game series. There's nothing wrong, you just need new stuff to do and get into. Plenty of people have this problem too but their obsession lies in different things.

In that list I would have to put the Ruger at the top of the list with the STI. I just recently got my hands on the Ruger and really liked it. One of the guys are work with just bought one. His choice was that or the Magnum Research. He said he tried to eject the magazine and put it back in on the Magnum research one time and said forget that. I didn't get to do as much with it as I would have liked to but it handled like a nice 1911. He had no malfuncitons in his first 150-200 rounds and I saw the target afterwards, no problem with accuracy.

Binge eating disorder from long term dieting.. help?

I only binge like that but since I'm anorexic I find it easier to just not eat anything and then exercise. You binge alot bc you don't eat healthy and don't know how to eat normally anymore, and also bc you probably feel that carbs will fill you up but it doesn't until you have consumed so many calories. You probably might be getting enough calories but not the right way. Your not addicted to food you just don't know how to control how you eat anymore. Eating intuitively wirks for most people but not always. You should eat a lot of friuts and vegetables so you get full faster. Also drink pure water. Basically every hour. If you can make it through the first and second day then you can go the whole week.

Cabins are not that much smaller with Princess than with any other cruise lines. In fact, I would bet you would not notice them smaller at all. Princess Buffet does not suck. They have a wide range of food. The only things is the buffet does get crowded, so that is why I almost always eat in the dinning room. In the MDR, I find the food excellent. Princess also has far less old people then Holland America. Holland America is about 85% people over the age of 60. I have been sailing with Princess for years now and think they are top notch. BTW, Princess decor is much more classier then Carnival with a lot less gaudy color schemes.

When do you prefer a character's appearance to be revealed?

I like both techniques you wrote, to be honest. When I read I like to be told almost immediately what the character looks like, but I absolutely hate it when the author stops and thinks that's enough. As if they think the reader won't need a memory refresher. So, as I read on, I like it when the author slips in little details throughout the story. I think Rick Riordan does a great job of doing this and I'd look into a couple of his books.

So I think I have diabetes (yay -_-). I'm tired all the time, always hungry (after a buffet I'd be hungry in like an hour), blurry vision (got contacts), pee a lot, zone out a lot, and you get the idea. I don't really know how they treat diabetes, I know you start looking at your diet and they hop you up on insulin and such, but what happens then? Will I have more energy? Tough choice between books or telescopes?

If you have not already, I would encourage you to read some of Carl Sagan's books, or even watch his Cosmos tv series (It's all on Hulu). Watching that and reading some of his books, Pale Blue Dot especially, really got me intrigued about the universe and our place in it. I would watch Cosmos and then invest in a good telescope. I'm in just the opposite situation myself; I've recently wanted to delve deeper into philosophy, maybe read some of the classics you mentioned. But yes, Richard Dawkins is great too. He's a biologist, but he has a lot of great books about evolution, religion, and lots of interesting things. But for astronomy, I would strongly suggest Dr. Sagan and a telescope to get you started.

yes, you maybe pregnant. Just so you are aware, I am 9 weeks and my urine and blood tests are showing negative results. I had all the symptoms and the gut feeling that I was preggers. Please don't get dicouraged because you see a negative. Also, if it is the first few weeks (first month) then the baby is too small to see. they told me I wasn't pregnant because they couldn't see it and all my test were negative, but I made them do another ultra sound this month and sure enough there was a little baby. Keep hopes up and know that negative tests don't always mean you are not pregnant lol.

About 5 years ago I fell off of a cliff and broke my ankle, tore ligaments in my knees and tore a disc in my spine which collapsed and caused a bulging disc as well. What followed was about 2 1/2 to 3 years of pill abuse (lortabs/percocet). I stopped that about 2 years ago with 1 minor slip. Over the past few months my health had been in question. I was losing weight, had lots of anxiety, couldn't put the weight back on, depression, etc. I thought a lot of it was emotional issues I needed to work thru so I started talking to my family and inlaws and decided to go to a therapist. My female inlaws decided to write me off as a drug addict and keep their distance. As of just this past week I found out I have a potentially life threatening health issue which has actually caused all of these side effects I have been going through. I even took a voluntary drug test just to clear the air. I still haven't even heard from them and these are people I have been there for in the past. I'm being told not to even think about that right now but it is VERY difficult. Would you be upset if you were in mg shoes? How do you think you would handle it?

First off, I am 5'8" and about 190-200lbs depending on the week lol. I have tried various weight loss methods in the past but I get bored with them in a few weeks and stop them. At our wedding, each of our guests is getting a 6 oz steak and chicken breast. I'm a vegan, so I will probably have pasta and tofu or something animal friendly like that. Gifts for daughter's best friend?

In April, my daughter's best friend moved to Florida. The other girl's mother and I am each going to drive half way, my daughter is getting in their car and we are both driving to our own houses. Heartbroken re decision made?

My 18 year old son has had mental health issues for many years namely due to horriffic sexual abuse he suffered at the hands of his bioligical father & grandfather. Since he chose to file charges with the police, his biological father committed suicide, his grandfather was called to trial but the prosecutors felt there was not enough 'evidence' to take it to trial & in the publics best interest to withdraw all charges from the grandfather so he got off scott free. I have had my son in multiple private hospitals seeking the best of psychiatric care for the last two years since he left school. He is addicted to drugs, pain medication, marijuana, you name it. He has attempted suicide a multitude of times & last night was the final straw in that he terrified my 3 year old son (his step brother), myself & his step father by indicating we were at harm & to lock ourselves in our bedroom throughout the night, that he cut himself up with a knife across his arms & legs & my fiance had to wrestle a large carving knife from him. We had police come to the house, he had a seizure in front of them & the ambulance arrived to take him to hospital but he walked out of there today as our mental health system in Western Australia is pathetic, they release mental health patients at the drop of a hat. We have told him many times previously that we cannot keep putting up with him living under our roof with his addictions that he doesn't seem to want to address & he is scaring his little 3 year old brother so he has to move out. I am heartbroken telling my own child he is not welcome in our home. He told me today we don't care about him, we don't love him, we only love his little brother, he is our only son & he is going to kill himself & we will have his blood on our hands. I have for years tried so many hospitals, psychs, taken so much time off work jeopardising my job trying to help him, I recently secured him a job & we thought things were going well but he took days off on drug induced illness. I can't help but feel guilty about our decision to have him look for crisis accommodation. I have tried to intervene & help him do this today but he told me to stay out of his life. I feel like I'm a terrible mother & have let my own flesh & blood down.

Your brother, bless his soul, must have been in a very bad place mentally at the time, but you can surely take some solace in the fact that he didn't suffer for the final few brutal years of the illness. In regards to your dreams, in my opinion they will be caused both by your PTSD and your medication. They sound extremely vivid and dreams like that can confuse/scare/bewilder us. It's not a question of EITHER a telescope OR books: you need BOTH. A telescope by itself is useless: you need at least an atlas or a guidebook to find anything interesting to look at. My personal recommendation is a good book (NightWatch by Terence Dickinson is my favourite) and a membership in an astronomy club. That way you will get to look through telescopes and talk to a lot of interesting people, much better than being alone with a telescope you don't know how to use.

I need help with a reoccurring dream I keep having?

I dream I am in a strange boarding house and every time the dream is the same except thing change slightly. Im walking down a long corridor with what appears to be bedrooms for teenage girls due to seeing past slightly open doors and seeing rock posters, pink walls and brightly coloured sheets on the bed but when I turn a Corner things take a sinister turn and the rooms on the other side are dark and appear threatening. He sought me out (I knew him bc he is a good friends of mines from high schools older brother) So we have been seeing each other only for 2 weeks, and now all of a sudden I have symptoms, my boobs hurt, etc . I take a test, and it comes out positive. I know it is from the ex. He is a drug addict, and abusive. Has alot of issues. And was trying to get me pregnant on purpose. I do not normally believe in terminating a pregnancy, I just cannot go though with it with the situation at hand.
